For some reason, Bowery Ballroom feels like the quintessential NYC venue. It fits 650 people which puts it on the larger side of crowds and for bands that have conquered the smaller venues in NYC, playing here might feel like a "we've made it"-milestone. It sold to LiveNation not too long ago, so the booking may suffer -- but it's certainly still a must-visit NYC institution.
